~ Additional Information ~
~ Lunch ~
Festival Attendees -
We will be providing a buffet lunch for
students and families. These must be pre-paid at registration,
and cannot be guaranteed with late registrations. Otherwise,
bring a brown bag lunch. There are also many local restaurants
within walking distance of the Hopkins center.
Clinicians and Festival Teachers -
Meals will be provided for all Festival Clinicians and teachers. Teachers must respond by March 4.
~ T-Shirts ~
This year we will be pre-selling T-shirts for $14 each. A limited number will be available at the door for $16. We cannot guarantee T-shirts with late registrations.
~ Private Lessons ~
Any student may take a private lesson on Friday
for an additional fee. Students close in
level are together in hour-long blocks. Please come
prepared to play a polished, memorized piece.
Lesson times will be confirmed and are filled on a
first come basis.
Linda Fiore will be teaching private violin lessons to one group of four students for one hour. Students must be well into book 2 and plan to bring a polished, memorized selection. The first four students to sign up will be selected.
Stacey Benben will be teaching private cello lessons.
~ Group Program ~
This year there will be a $20 per student discount for school groups of 20 or more students bringing the fee down to $40. All registrations must be in one package and be postmarked by February 15. Non-playing students in the group may register for $30 per student. Regular fees apply to additional programs such as chamber music or services such as lunch. There is no fee for classroom teachers or parents helping to supervise a group.
~ Non-Instrumental Workshop ~
This program includes all non-instrumental activities such as drama, movement, and art and is available for children aged 3 years and older.
~ Infant/Toddler Workshop ~
There will be a 1 hour "Jiggety Jog" class for infants and toddlers from babies to four years. A parent or older sibling must be in attendance. There is a $10 fee for this program. The fee is waived if the infant is a third family member or if the child is part of the Non-Instrumental Workshop.
~ String Orchestra ~
There are three levels of string orchestra. Please select a level
at which students can easily play, as there is little rehearsal
time.
| Level A. |
Able to read at the grade 3 level or beyond with prior
orchestral or ensemble experience. Assumes good reading skills.

| Level B. |
Early reader able to read at the grade 1-2 level. Assumes
limited reading skills and a little previous ensemble experience.
|
| Level C. |
Open strings and simple finger patterns for very early
readers. This is designed as a first or very early ensemble experience.

All students: Please bring folding music stand. All stands
must be marked with student's name.
