The Suzuki Workshop is a three day program for Suzuki string and piano students in a beautiful mountainous setting. The program will balance music, related arts and recreational activities.

| Pam Reit ~ Violin |
Pam Reit has been a Suzuki teacher for 20 years. She has taught at Institutes and Workshops around the United States. She is the Music Director of Vermont Suzuki Violins, Inc. in Northern Vermont. She teaches privately in her home while raising her children Layla and Abby. She has a BM from Peabody Conservatory and an MM from Rice University.

| Erik Madsen ~ Violin |
| Erik Madsen decided to become a Suzuki violin teacher when he heard the
Japanese tour group perform in Montreal in 1975. He has taught ever
since. In addition to taking teacher training and observing at
institutes, his teacher development includes a period of study with the
late Dr.Suzuki in Matsumoto, Japan. A B.Mus. in Performance and an M.A.
in Education were both obtained at McGill University. Erik founded
Institut Suzuki Montreal in 1979 and directed it for 25 years. He
currently maintains a studio in the Montreal area, where he teaches
pupils aged 3 - 17, from beginning to advanced players. Erik also
conducts string orchestras. Several of his former pupils have gone on to
careers in music or are presently enrolled in conservatories. The
majority have chosen other paths, their lives enriched by music. Erik is
married to Kirsten, a Suzuki cello teacher. They have four children:
Emmanuel, Isaac, Jacob and Else.

| Dan Santelices ~ Violin/Viola |
| Dan Santelices is on the faculty of the Centenary (College) Suzuki School in Shreveport, Louisiana and is a core member of the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra. He is the Director/Founder of the Chamber Music Program of the Ark-La-Tex Youth Symphony Orchestras and has been a guest clinician for summer music camps across the country. "Mr. Dan", as he is known by his students has been named to Who's Who Among American Teachers for 2003-04 and 2004-05.

| Kirsten Madsen ~ Cello |
| Kirsten Madsen began playing cello at the age of three with the Suzuki Method. As a student she won many competitions and honors. At the age of thirteen she began teaching as an aide. She went on to study under cellist Wolfgang Laufer and was chosen to perform in master classes for renowned cellists such as Truls Mark and Sharon Robinson. In 1995 she completed a one year teaching apprenticeship at the Georgia Academy of Music with Dr. Beth Cantrell. To this experience she added short term teacher training courses through the SAA. She maintained a private studio as well as teaching both cello and Musical Beginnings at the Georgia Academy of Music. In addition to teaching she performed regularly with a string quartet, and was assistant principal of the Dekalb Symphony Orchestra. In 2000 she moved to Montreal to marry Suzuki violin teacher Eric Madsen. They enjoy a combined private studio. Kirsten now teaches part time as most of her time is occupied in caring for their four small children.

| Eric Wright ~ Cello |
Eric Wright graduated from Sharon Academy, attended Skidmore College, and now
attends Berklee School of Music. He began his cello studies in the first grade
with Peter Blum. He has studied cello with John Dunlop, Ann Alton, and Eugene
Freisen. He was principal cellist of the Vermont Youth Orchestra, winner of
the concerto competition, and soloist with the orchestra. Eric has played the
electric guitar in a band called Acopalyse as well as the bass guitar, drums,
and steel drums. He has attended and worked at many Suzuki Camps and
Festivals.

| Peter Blum ~ Workshop Director |
Peter Blum has been a Suzuki teacher in Vermont for 17 years. He is the
President of the Northeastern Suzuki Foundation which organizes large Festivals
and Workshops. He has a BA in music from Vassar College, an MS in Music
Education from the University of Illinois, and an MBA from RPI - Hartford
Graduate Center. Peter has been the string teacher at the Wellspring Waldorf School for the past three years.

| Paula Mann ~ Drama |
| Paula Mann has been a professional actress for the past 27 years, appearing
in film, television and regional theatres. She has appeared in numerous
productions at the Dorset Theatre Festival and won four Best Actress awards
for her work. She also created and ran a summer drama camp for children at
the DTF and is currently teaching acting at Green Mountain College in
Poultney, Vermont.

| Kate Ullman ~ Recorder & Singing |
Kate Ullman, Children's Chorus. B.A., Washington College, M.MEd., Hartt School
of Music; Graduate Certificate, Kodaly Pedagogical Institute, Hungary. Ms.
Ullman has taught chorus and classroom music in Windham County for 11 years. She
has performed all her life as a chorister, notably in recording with Cappella
Nova and in performances with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.

| Linda Blum ~ Visual Arts |
Linda Blum of Springfield, Vermont has been educated in art and teaching and is presently employed in a teaching position. Her painting is done with a fast-dry oil medium. There has been an on-going interest in puppetry and drama, and she has created many puppets, back drops and props. She has traveled with her puppets and plays. Her art interests are varied, and that enthusiastic creativity brings an interesting experience to the students. Linda is on the faculty of Union Street School in Springfield, VT. Linda has been teaching art at various Suzuki Camps and Festivals for the past five years.

| Allen Church ~ Drumming and Fiddling |
| Allen Church has been teaching music, violin, and guitar for over 20 years in Morrisville, Vermont. He started out as an elementary music teacher in Stowe where he applied his own training in the Orff Schulwerk. In 1998 he opened his own studio to teach Suzuki Violin, northeast and Irish fiddling, and guitar. Now he strings along about 30 players in all. He also conducts workshops for strings and percussion and offers a special drum-making class for older students.

| Torsti Rovainen ~ Games |
| Torsti Rovainen has been teaching for the past twelve years. Initially trained as a high school math teacher, he went to Nepal with the US Peace Corps and taught math, English, and environmental education. On returning to the states he transitioned to experiential education, working with young adults on outdoor community service projects. During that time he also led low ropes courses and environmental education activities.
Most recently he has trained as a Waldorf teacher, both for grades 1-8 and early childhood. He is in his fourth year of a five year training in Spacial Dynamics, a body of work which explores the human body's movement in space, providing activities, games, and therapeutic movement for all ages. He is currently the Movement Educator at Wellspring Waldorf School in Chelsea, Vermont, and also teaches singing and drama.

| Carol Post ~ Outdoor Activities |
| Carol Post is an outdoor enthusiast who is currently the outdoor education teacher for Wellspring. She spent 15 years working for the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School leading adventure trips, ropes courses, and new games for people of all ages. Also, she is a mother of three and a clinical herbalist. One never knows what adventure is waiting for music camp students!
